THE ICING ON THE CAKE

Our community project for Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead at 4 Marlow Road is nearing completion so the client decided to celebrate by inviting the great and the good and baking a cake! It’s not often that your designs are immortalised in sponge,so here is a picture of the pinnacle of the patissier’s art – also known as the gateau chateau.

DAY OUT AT KEW GARDENS

In June 08 we spent a day taking in the sights and sounds of Kew Gardens

and Kew Palace.  The sun stayed out for most of the day and a good time was had by all.

Giant water lillies and tree top walkways are sure to be insprirations for our

next set of designs!

LONGRIDGE BOATING CENTRE, MARLOW

This existing centre offers opportunities for youngsters and adults to enjoy all aspects of water based sports on the River Thames.

We have drawn up a master plan for redeveloping the site to provide more improved facilities to replace the existing buildings.

These include a rowing boathouse, administration offices, meeting and seminar rooms, residential accomodation and changing facilities.

Land based activities include a high ropes courseacross the river backwater.

The site presents difficult planning problems as it is in the Green Belt and the Thames flood plain.

The Masterplan is under discussion with the planners and we are hoping to move towards preparing planning applications for the first phase of the project early in 2008.

TREEHOUSE CLASSROOM, MAIDENHEAD

The provision of a new outdoor seasonal classroom at Burchetts Green Primary School to replace an existing rundown outbuilding.

The ‘treehouse classroom’ is situated within the peaceful and secluded woodland area at the end of the existing playing field making use of the existing trees and bringing its occupants closer to nature.

COLTS, KINGWOOD COMMON

We are currently designing a ‘state of the art’ modern house to

replace an existing dwelling on an attractive sloping site with

excellent views in the Chiltern Hills.  The house will incorporate

many sustainable features to help minimise carbon emission

levels.  The simple palate of materials contrast a rough stone

base with large areas of glass to provide a high level of daylight

in the living spaces.
